Although Microsoft may produce the most widely used OS for home computers, in terms of operating systems for mobile devices on the latest contract phones, they are firmly in the runner up position. In an effort to boost their reputation in the mobile world, Windows are developing Windows 8; their latest attempt to steal iOS and Android’s mobile operating system crown.

The exquisitely designed Samsung Series 5 notebook computer, or “Chromebook” has finally been released. The Series 5 is built with a dual-core, 1.66Ghz Intel Antom N570 processor, 2GB of RAM and a beautifully clear 12.1 inch screen. The petite 16GB hard disk isn’t likely to take your breath away, but Chrome OS’ cloud-based file storage system, eight hour battery life and the rapid eight second boot time just might.

Google Chromium netbooks have already hit the market and are being sold for a fairly decent price tag to attract the casual users. I never received my Google Cr-48 (even after repeated requests to Google) so I cannot say for sure if I can store everything in the servers up there in the cloud completely, but I did use Chrome web browser on my laptop to do everything that I normally do on my computer.

Google has found yet another way to fine tune the performance of its browser. Google is adding another stage to its prerendering process and is developing search queries launched by Chrome. This advancement, accelerating search queries, has only become available through the recent versions of Chromium. This will allow for instant search results, this feature works across multiple windows.

Few months back, Google gave away free CR-48 netbooks to the beta testers to test out the Chromium operating system. There has been a lot of positive feedback about it as Chromium has been made to do only one thing – to provide users with great Internet Experience. Windows operating system is made to serve myriad of purposes, including gaming, Internet experience, programming and so on.
