Acer has made it official that its first Chromium netbook will hit the retail shelves for 350 dollars this month (June, 11). Note that this is the Wi-Fi only model and the 3G capable model will be coming sometime later this summer.
The AC700 features an 11.6 inch display, Atom N570 processor (1.66GHz clock speed, dual core, four threads), 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB solid state drive (SSD) for storage. Other specs include 2x USB 2.0 ports, four in one card reader, 802.11n Wi-Fi and a 6-cell battery to keep it running for 6 hours.
Compared to the Kogan Chromebook, the AC700 has less powerful processor but is backed by strong customer support.
